There are some people who believe I don’t want to hire an attorney and pay him a fee when I could do this on my own. That’s great, but what’s going to happen when you’re on the phone with the insurance adjuster and now they turnaround and tell you “I’m sorry, we don’t believe that your injuries are worth what you claim them to be”? How are you going to overcome that obstacle? How are you going to justify to them that your injuries really are as bad as you claim them to be? Just saying it won’t make it happen. Giving them a couple of medical records won’t make it happen.
Unless you know the strategies and techniques and tactics that will help you to justify your claim and justify why your injuries are really as severe as you claim them to be, you’re going to be at a significant disadvantage when handling this matter on your own. There are some people who turn around and say “I don’t want to give up a fee.” That’s fine. You don’t have to. You can do this on your own, but if you don’t have this of experience handling these types of cases and you don’t know how to deal with these adjusters, and what proof you need to show to them in order to justify that your injuries are significant and permanent, you are going to be at a significant disadvantage.
Why do you want to put yourself in that position? The reality is you don’t. The best thing for you instead is to hire an attorney who does this every single day, who knows how to deal with the adjusters, who know how to justify and support your claims with expert medical witnesses, with expert testimony, with other information that’s going to support and justify why your injuries really are as bad as they seem. Why do I share this quick story with you? I share it with you just to give you a sense of what goes on and what is looking to happen when you try and handle this type of accident matter on your own.
Can you do it on your own? Of course, you can, but don’t be surprised when the insurance company comes back and low balls you, and now you’re stuck trying to figure out a way to get them to come up off of what little amount they offered. You’re going to have a big problem there. I recognize you’ve got questions or concerns about your own particular matter.
